Monday Madness: Shut the Front Door.

Those of you who are familiar with mum of one and stylist-to-the-stars, Rachel Zoe, will hopefully be familiar with one of her many Zoe-isms: “shut the front door”. Commonly used to express a state of astonishment or disbelief, I definitely had a “shut the front door” moment this evening as I scrolled through the ‘What’s New’ section on none other than, net-a-porter.com’s website.

ROBERTO CAVALLI – Oversized Lapis Lazuli Snake and Flower Ring.

This statement ring is the perfect thing to finish off any outfit for a night out with the girls or for a night out on a date. The oversized lapis lazuli is framed by the brass snake detail and finished off with several matching deep blue flowers. Keep hair and make-up minimal, and avoid wearing any shade blue, to let your hand do the talking.

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN – Asteroid 140 Suede and Patent-Leather Pumps.

We should all hopefully be more than aware of my LOVE LOVE LOVE for the Master of the Sole, Mr. Christian Louboutin. He can do almost no wrong in my eyes and he always manages to outdo himself with his crazy insane creations; these Asteroid pumps being no exception. The spikes at the toe bring MAY-JOR sex appeal and the contrasting suede and leather just make these pumps IRRESISTIBLE. Wear with leather trousers or leggings, a chic blazer or jacket for your “shut the front door” moment.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN – Embroidered Silk-Faille and Organza Gown.

Feel like going to the opera tonight? Perhaps to a red carpet? Or what about just wandering around your home feeling like a princess? Look no further than Alexander McQueen and their cascading silk and organza golden embroidered gown. The corseted bodice features such intricate craftsmanship, you’ll like you’ve stepped out of the 1700’s; and the black ruffled skirt will leave you feeling like you’re swimming in your own McQueen paradise. Be the belle of your own ball with this gothic gown that is sure to turn a few heads. And oh yeah, you need to have a spare £20 000 in your bank account.

Alexander McQueen

RACHEL GILBERT – Lucia Embellished Ruched Tulle Dress.

They say that green is the colour of envy and in this case they’d be right. This emerald embellished tulle dress will leave your friends green with envy on a night out. The Lucia is finished off with pale gold sequin and bead detail, so there’s no need to over-accessories with this beauty. Add a pair of metallic pumps or sandals for a glitzy finish and you’re all good to go.

ARTISAN – 14-Karat White Gold-Vermeil and Diamond Drop Earrings.

I have to admit that I’m more of a stud girl, and drop earrings don’t usually catch my eye. This said, I did do a double take when I saw these white gold-vermeil and diamond drop earrings.  These earrings do just the trick to upgrade a simple evening outfit from drab to fab; as well as elevating an elegant outfit to the next level. It’s just the thing to pair with the silk and organza McQueen, above.

YVES SAINT LAURENT – Tribtoo Glitter-Finish Suede Pumps.

I love glitter. It’s my favourite colour, it adds a little something to any outfit, and a little sparkle goes such a long way. I love Yves Saint Laurent. He was a good-looking man, an amazing designer, and inspired many. What’s not to love about these glitter-finish Yves Saint Laurent pumps? NOTHING. Wear with skinny jeans or leather leggings for a chic finish, or dress them up with a below the knee (I’m not a big fan of anything below the knee, but just this once?) pencil skirt dress or something a little shorter for a touch of lady-like chic.
