Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town.

Last Sunday, the resident musician Jaime (or Miguel as Joan and I renamed him) played this song in Spanish, and we fell in love with the Spanish version. Having only listened to The Killers rendition of the Kenny Rogers’ classic, it was so cool to hear an alternate version and still be able to sing along. This song is about a man who was disfigured during either the Korean or Vietnam War, who watches as his wife gets herself dolled up for a night out. It’s a beautifully sad and powerful ballad that is so catchy I’m sure you’ll be humming along to it by the first chorus.

Miguel kind of looks like an older, more tan Rogers now that I come to think about it… Anyways, check back later today for more on our Alcúidan adventures. Happy Sunday!
