Glitter and Jewels.

There have been a lot of beautiful shiny things on net-a-porter recently and I couldn’t just keep them to myself. Though I’d say my taste in jewellery has always remained pretty consistent, as I’ve gotten older I’ve seen that there’s a very specific type of jewellery that drives me while. Dainty, delicate small pieces that are so cute and feminine yet understated and not too flashy – especially when it comes to earrings.

DIANE KORDAS

DELFINA DELETTREZ

But the thing I love the most about all these beautiful shiny things? They’re just so nice to look at, and it’s as simple as that.

Head Over Mules In Love.

It’s no secret that mules have become all the rage in recent months, much like it’s no secret that my love for the peculiar shoe is real (see posts here and here), so surely this post will not seem too out of the ordinary. A couple of weeks ago while updating my net-a-ports wish list, I came across these bad boys. Now, as much as I love me some mules, the heel has to be a particular height otherwise I’m not interested, but there was something about these Alexander Wang mules that grabbed my attention. Could it be the cut-out heel or the fabulous feather detailing? Or the fact that a few days prior I had found myself mysteriously mesmerised by Loeffler Randall’s low heeled sandals?

I’ll never know. But one thing I do know is that my love for mules is no longer height-biased.

Obsessed With: Maggie Marilyn.

So, there I was, minding my own business, scrolling through the recently added section on net-a-ports (as you do), adding things to my wish list, when I kept coming across such distinctly feminine yet not super girly pieces. I soon discovered that coincidentally, all these great pieces I was coming across, were all from New Zealand based brand, Maggie Marilyn. Practically still a baby (it was only launched in 2016), the line is sold exclusively on net-a-porter which helps add to its charm.

While I’m not usually a fan of ruffles – I find them too messy and unnecessary – there is something about MM’s ruffled pieces that makes me want to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe with nothing but ruches and frills.

I can’t wait to see more from this brand in the future. Check out more of the collection here and here.

The Wolves.

Today’s Soundtrack is taking a little break from all the country I’ve been sharing lately. It’s been a while since my hubs aka Ben Howard’s released any new music/ has been on the blog/ I’ve listened to any of his songs, but the other day I got suddenly got the urge to listen to his songs. ‘The Wolves’, from his debut album Every Kingdom, has always been a favourite of mine, and I’m actually very surprised I haven’t shared it on here before. So what better song to share when I’m in this Ben Howard mood?

I don’t know when Ben’ll next be releasing something, but I really hope it’s soon. In the meantime, I’ll just have to keepy Every Kingdom, The Burgh Island and I Forgot Where We Were on repeat. Happy Sunday.

H.O.L.Y. (High On Loving You).

Today’s Soundtrack was very difficult to choose. Last Sunday I had a vague idea of the song I wanted to share, but then as the week continued I kept hearing more and more songs that I desperately wanted as this week’s Sunday Soundtrack. Anyway, today’s song comes courtesy of my favourite Florida-Georgia duo, Florida Georgia Line – whose next album also happens to drop next month!!!!!!!!!!! (Can you tell I’m excited?). while I love all their music, my favourite songs of theirs have got to be their slow, ballady type ones that make me feel all warm, gooey and romantic inside. These boys really know how to make a woman feel loved and special, what with their deep southern voices and meaningful lyrics. I really could listen to them sing all day long (which I have done on many occasions). This song is definitely worth a listen and it’ll be tiding me over until August 26 when their new album, Dig Your Roots comes out.

I can’t wait to share more great music last week! Happy Sunday.

I Won’t Complain.

I first heard this song a few months ago when I was randomly on snapchat and watched the Burberry feature about their latest perfume campaign, and this song was the first thing to catch my attention. Since then I’ve been meaning to put this song on the blog but I keep forgetting. I probably would have forgotten again for another week had I not come across this song on an advert earlier this week on snapchat. This song is so moving and beautiful, it brings a tear to my eye. The first time I heard this song, I got chills all over my body and for the first time in a long time, I felt at peace with everything that was happening in my life at the time. Benjamin’s voice is haunting, full of passion, honest and hopeful. I feel myself really connecting to the song and lyrics and with each listen, I feel like I’m learning something new about myself. I love this song so much and will definitely be listening to it on repeat all day.

Give this song a listen, and happy Sunday!

Stop Where You Are.

It feels like I haven’t been so moved by a song in the longest time. Corinne’s voice perfectly captures and embodies that glimmer of hope we all look for in our darkest times. And that’s what this song truly is: four minutes of a glimmer of hope, that will cause a swell of emotion inside you (if you’re going through a rough patch), and will make you look at life a little differently – or at the very least will give you a serious case of the goosebumps.

Give this song a listen and see how you feel afterwards. Happy Sunday.
