Back Home.

Doesn’t the beginning instrumental sound like something you’d hear in a Western? Question of the day: do you ever have those days where you feel great but are in the mood for some melancholic music? To answer the question for myself, I definitely do and in fact today just so happens to be one of those days. This song played in last week’s episode of Elementary (which I only watched last night and explains why it’s been in my head/ how I’ve managed to remember it) and there’s something about the music I can’t shake. I love that despite being in such a great mood and looking outside at the equally gorgeous sunshine, there’s nothing I’d rather listen to right now than something grey and gloomy. The video is also visually STUNNING and calming and just all-round perfect. This song is definitely worth a listen so make sure you check it out.

Major sidebar: I can’t be the only one who’s a little thrown by the fact NBC moved Elementary to Sundays, right? Happy Sunday!

All We Do.

I’m not 100% sure why I chose this song to be today’s Soundtrack. It’s eerie, gives me the shivers, and makes me feel slightly uncomfortable – although that could all be down to where I first heard the song. This song played at the end of Thursday’s Elementary, which I was already having trouble understanding. I wouldn’t even know where to begin explaining. In short, this girl “Casey” pretended to be Mina Davenport, a girl who had been abducted ten years ago, and killed an FBI agent who was looking into old case files and was close to figuring out she was a fraud. I didn’t do a good job of explaining, but I guess that’s all the more reason for you to watch it. Anyway, this song played at the end of the episode when Sherlock was talking to Casey and it really creeped me out ergo how this song weirdly became today’s Soundtrack.

Aside from the creepiness I feel every time this song plays, I’ve had it on repeat for a few hours and I love it. This song is definitely worth a listen (or several) so make sure you check it out!

Family and Genus.

It’s that time of year when all my favourite shows are back and in full swing. My latest fave to make its grand return is Elementary. After ending the third season with Sherlock’s relapse, I was intrigued as to how/where they would pick up the fourth season. I was pleasantly surprised at what the writers did and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season will unfold. Moving on to today’s Soundtrack, this song played at the end of the season premiere when Sherlock meets his father on the roof of the brownstone (I WAS NOT EXPECTING TO EVER MEET HIS DAD – not too sure why I had to shout that hahaha), and like most things, it clicked with me and I had to listen to it a few thousand times. I had wanted to share this last week, but IU won out – but good thing music doesn’t have a sell-by date 😉

Happy Sunday.
