Six of the Best.

My, what a week it’s been over at net-a-porter. I feel as though I’ve been writing about my favourite picks every day this week, so sorry if you’re getting bored of all the fashion intensive posts, I promise I’ll be posting a variety of things in the next couple of days so stay tuned. Back to the fashion though, I couldn’t think of a better way to end the fashion week than with six of the best laidback pieces.

KENZO

Everyone needs that AMAZING scarf that can be worn with everything no matter the weather and Kenzo have gotten it just right. This bright cashmere leopard print scarf would work a treat with an all-black ensemble.

BURBERRY BRIT

Move over Mother, I think I’ve found my new go-to denim! These jeans look almost identical to my favourite Uniqlo jeans, and as I’ve said before, I like showing pieces that are similar to things I own, so as to keep the blog authentic and real (though with a bigger budget), and I really couldn’t do better than these Burberry Brit jeans.

CLU

Clu is one of those brands that you just CAN’T hate, and that you end up wanting a piece from every collection they come out with (at least that’s what it feels like to me), and I know that in a few years’ time, I’ll be buying their pieces all the time! This sweater looks so cute I cannot get enough of it, and while I’m not usually a fan of having shirt fabric under sweaters, it works so well in this instance that I’m willing to turn a blind eye.

KENZO

Another amazing scarf offering from Kenzo, only this one isn’t as bright and allows for you to wear a bit of colour with this fabulous accessory.

T BY ALEXANDER WANG

I’m all about the back cleavage, so anything that shows off either part of the back or the whole thing, I as a winner in my book, and I personally think Alexander Wang couldn’t be any more of a winner if he tried. The conservative nature of the front, and racy sheer panelled back, give the sweater a simple yet sexy feel that would look good for both day and night.

Just Add Jeans.

If there’s one thing I like about the net-a-ports layout (sorry to go on), it’s that it allows for me to have another look at the pieces from weeks before, giving me a second chance to pick outfits I may have overlooked – hence the new section below: BONUS. Moving on, today’s picks are all from new designers that I’m beyond excited to welcome to the blog, and best of all can all look chic if you: just add jeans. So check it out.

M2MALLETIER

I first saw this bag and wasn’t too sure what to make of it. While I’m still not one hundred per cent, I must say that I love the creamy beige colour and the ultra-cool gold bar at the top.

TOGA

You really cannot go wrong with a cutesy black top with a sheer metallic speckled panel at the front. That also coupled with a blue faux-pearl embellished collar? And a pair of bad ass structured (removable) shoulders? I can’t even! I need this now!

MICHAEL Michael Kors     Jimmy Choo     Victoria Beckham

TOGA

Another gem from new designer to net-a-porter, Toga, and I’m wondering what took net-a-porter so long to introduce this fabulous brand? This top features a few of my favourite things: embellishment, a bit a LOT of sparkle, with a touch of bouclé knit! I am in heaven right about now and have no intention of coming down. The colour is also a rather interesting one too, and would look perfect for a night out.

VALENTINO

This clutch is a prime example of what I meant above when I said the new net-a-porter layout allowed me to see things for a second time with fresh eyes. When I first saw this last week, I just did not get it! But now, looking at it again, I get it ALL, and feel sad that I almost let it slip through my wish list fingers –not cool!

As always let me know what you think and check out net-a-porter to see what else is new today. In other news, I finally joined the world of the technologically advanced and kissed goodbye to me soul mate that was my crackberry. I am now the proud owner of an iPhone, and if this post is anything to go by, you can probably tell what one of the first things I did was… I downloaded the net-a-porter app, so now I can browse and oogle on the go! It’s FREE, so download your app too!

A Good Mix

There are quite a few pieces in today’s picks, but I like to think it kind of makes up for my lack of net-a-porter posts over the past couple of weeks. I also thought that I’d add to extra bonuses, which aren’t new to net-a-porter, but caught my eye nonetheless, and I felt compelled to share with you.

SAINT LAURENT

The first thing that ran through my mind when I first saw this was ‘YES! YES! YES!’ I’m not quite sure what grabbed my attention so suddenly, but I’m not exactly complaining. This bag so AWESOME!

CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA

I practically live in Ugg boots, six inch heels and ballet flats, so whenever I see a pair of flats that don’t fit my typical shoe criteria, I always do a double take. These cutesy slippers had me doing just that as they caught my eye immediately. From past posts I’m sure you’ll see that I’m quite a massive fan of Charlotte Olympia shoes, and often style them in my ‘Styling Suggestion’, so you can be sure that these babies will be making an appearance in the near future!

Vanessa Bruno     Rag & bone JEAN     MICHAEL Michael Kors

STELLA MCCARTNEY

This is the kind of sweater that I’d throw over a pair of jeans in the mad rush of going out for a casual dinner or drink with friends. The colours and fabric make it casual enough for everyday wear, whilst still managing to look put together. This sweater would look equally fabulous with a mini skirt and I’m pretty sure could work for day and night.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

I think I’ve featured something similar to this before on the blog, so when I saw this, I knew it was a no-brainer and would automatically be added to my wish list! Perfect for summer over a pair of light wash jeans and a white tank, this is the ideal cape to keep you covered and cool.

MARC BY MARC JACOBS

How could I not pick this? While this sweater has the potential to look tacky, I think Marc really hit the nail on the head with this laid back vision of wonder. This is another item that is great for those early summer morning runs or meeting friends for lunch. It also reminds me of a few sweaters I have from Jack Wills.

BONUS

STELLA MCCARTNEY

Technically these shades are new this week to net-a-porter, even though they were first featured on the site on Wednesday. I’m not sure if it’s the good mood or reconsidering, but there is something about these cat-eye sunglasses that I cannot get enough of. I love how the cat-eye isn’t so dramatic (something that usually puts me off the design) and above everything they are WAY glam.

Stella McCartney     Stella McCartney

JIMMY CHOO

If I must be honest, these pumps found me. As I was minding my own business, I saw these at the top of my page and knew I had to find out everything I could about them. these studded suede pumps are five inches of ravenous beauty that more than anything, I would love to get my hands on *cough, cough*.

I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend and have lots of fun stuff planned. Me? I’m home for the weekend (I got back yesterday) and will be indulging myself with a Scandal marathon and watching the brand new series of The Rachel Zoe Project. I might also try and squeeze in some reading for uni. Let me know what you think and check out net-a-porter to see what else is new today.

What’s New Wednesday.

It would seem that an actual fashion (or a net-a-porter, to be precise) post is in order. I’m not sure what it is, but these past few weeks on net-a-ports have not jumped out at me like they usually do. Now, while there have been a few pieces that I’ve squealed at and fantasied about (like this Chloé cape, this vibrant Victoria Beckham mini dress, this Oscar de la Renta gown and this Michael Michael Kors bag), things have seemed a little off. I don’t know, maybe it’s just my subconscious throwing a hissy fit over the change in layout of the site… but anyway, all that aside, here are my favourite picks.

NINA RICCI

How could I not pick this open knit beauty? This is something that I can see my sister loving and wearing non-stop, and something that I can see myself borrowing from her from time to time.

Nina Ricci     Nina Ricci

Citizens of Humanity     Charlotte Olympia     Miu Miu

MULBERRY

I’m kind of still on the fence about this sweater and I think that in all honesty the only reason why I chose it is because I have something kind of similar at home and thought it’d be a bit rude not to pick this one. This is one of those sweaters that I could see paired with a predictable black skirt (or trousers), or teamed with a colourful skirt – I think I’d choose the latter.

Mulberry     Mulberry

Styling Suggestion

KENZO     Repetto     Alexander Wang

LANVIN

If this season and red carpet events are anything to go by then it would seem as though white is the new black. However, since I’m not really one to follow trends so much, when I look at this grosgrain silk top I’m reminded of Olivia Pope (yep I’m still Scandal obsessed even with this hiatus), and could most definitely see Kerry Washington rocking this top like no other high-powered woman could!

Lanvin     Lanvin

Styling Suggestion

Burberry Brit     Reed Krakoff     Chloé

RAG & BONE

And finally, nothing like a simple toned sweater to round off the bunch. I know that if I were working at the moment, this would be one of the pieces on the shop floor flying off the racks. Its simplicity means it can be worn with jeans and heels and not look overdone. Perfect for dinner at the pub with the girls. I love!

What’s New Wednesday.

I’m still getting to grips with the new and improved net-a-porter site, and while my thoughts on the new site keep shifting from like, to dislike, to irritating, back to like; I know that regardless of what I think, net-a-porter will always be my favourite fashion site!

ILEANA MAKRI

Nothing says ‘I want to spend the rest of eternity with you’ more than this titanium gold and diamond ring.

Ileana Makri     Ileana Makri

EQUIPMENT

I’d say we’re definitely more used to seeing fabulous and simply designed chiffon and silk shirts from Equipment, but more recently this French design house has been branching out with more graphic and out there prints and cashmere sweaters.

JOSEPH

To say I love a sheer shirt would be an understatement because I REALLY luuuurve sheer shirt. There is something so sexy, unassuming and oh so sophisticated about them, making them easy to wear all year round. This Joseph shirt would be the perfect little addition to any woman’s sheer shirt closet.

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG

The first thing that came to my head when I saw this dress was: ‘wow, Diane’s been taking design cues from Stella McCartney!’ if you don’t believe me, look at this. While there may be certain similarities between the two, that doesn’t make my love for this dress any less.

Another sweater hit from my favourite silk shirt brand. You really can’t beat a black V-neck sweater, especially on those lazy mornings when you can’t be bothered to look stunning, or for those casual evenings out with friends.

Monday Musings.

Okay, so obviously, it’s NOT Monday, but I didn’t get round to showing the latest additions to my wish list yesterday.

ILEANA MAKRI

There was no way THESE precious jewels weren’t going to make the cut. Of course I love diamonds, but all glitz aside, I’m a massive fan of Ileana Makri’s gems and she’s been featured on here a few times before. There’s also something about a pair of beautiful and oh so simple diamond earrings that has me weak in the knees, and did I mention that these have a hint of pink in them? Gorgeous!

Ileana Makri     Ileana Makri

Styling Suggestion

Splendid     Alexander Wang     Tory Burch

ROBERTO CAVALLI

I did a double-take when I first saw this dress because I couldn’t decide what I thought about it (it’s kind of funny how often this seems to happen to me). Even though you’re more likely to see Jennifer Lopez rocking this on the red carpet (yeah I’m talking the BIG gold bracelets and long dangly chandelier earrings), I feel there’s a way to (kind of, at least) make the dress slightly less hoochy (no offence Roberto) and slightly more classic.

Spectrum     Giuseppe Zanotti     Bottega Veneta

TORY BURCH

Having been heavily engrossed with Scandal for the past couple of weeks, it’s no surprise that this jacket screamed ‘First Lady’. I love the golden colour and boxy shape, and at this time I’m kind of wishing that I was a First Lady just so that I could wear all the cool outfits, but who knows what the future holds 😉

Let me know what you think. I can’t wait for tomorrow so that I can see what else is new. Also, sorry about all the brackets he he, I couldn’t help myself…

Clu, Veneta & Dreyfuss.

These pieces are from Monday’s ‘What’s New’, but I didn’t get round to sharing them then. Yesterday had a healthy selection of new pieces, but there were WAY too many to share (I know, like that’s ever stopped me before), so Monday’s favourites will have to do. Enjoy.

CLU

It’s the back of this striped sweater that gets me. I’m in love with the white silk-chiffon ruffles that have me wishing that I was still working so I could have seen this beauty up close. But oh wells, it’s all good, I guess ogling them from behind a computer screen with have to suffice!

This tank dress also has a pair of matching shorts which look pretty snazzy (it’s just a shame they’re not really my thing), though it was THIS dress that really caught my eye. You can’t really go wrong in a tank dress and when I’m at home (and not being lazy in pjs) this is what I’m usually wearing.

BOTTEGA VENETA

I saw this and stopped. Obviously I’m a sucker for a Bottega Veneta clutch so I’m probably really biased. What I most look forward to is accessorising this clutch with future looks.

JÉRÔME DREYFUSS

When I look at this bag it’s made ever more clear to me that I need a new bag and that I need my billionaire boyfriend to hurry up and buy me my early birthday present pronto – I mean, four days is a long time to wait for a bag…

Funny to think that the first week back at uni has flown by and I’m already preparing for a VERY lazy weekend, but not before a fun night out with the girls and some friends. In the meantime, I’m going to mooch on the sofa, or maybe I’ll watching something. Anyway, let me know what you think and check out net-a-porter to see what else is new this week.
