If you ask me, this month has been so long but so short. It feels as though so much has happened, but then at the same time it feel as though nothing has really gone on.
MY NEW PHONE
I got it last month but I haven’t been able to use it until a week ago. My whole experience, through frustrating as hell, reminded me that if you want something done, by god do you have to do it yourself!
My post on the finale episode of Being Mary Jane made it to the top of the TV and film category on The-NewsHub.com which I’m really happy about! Thank you if you read it, and if not, you can check it out here. I haven’t written for the site in a little while so I need to kick my butt into gear and start writing.
MY STARTER CAR
No I haven’t bought a car yet, BUT I have found the perfect starter car. Looks like I’d better get to saving.
I couldn’t ask for a better, more comfy pair of jeans. Right now I’m deciding on whether or not I should buy these again or if I should get the dark grey version.
I don’t know if it’s the way I applied it, or a change to their polish formula, but Barry M’s ‘Nightshade’ has not chipped AT ALL. I repeat – NOT AT ALL. I’ve been wearing it for close to two weeks now and it still look as good as new. I didn’t expect to love this colour so much, but now I can’t get enough of it.
I can’t wait to see what June will offer. Happy Thursday.
Yep, I’m really taking that whole ‘dark shades for Spring/Summer’ seriously. So seriously in fact, that the other day I bought a whole bunch of new shades to try out (the first of which I shared last week), and you’ll be happy to know that so far I’m loving them! Now, purple really isn’t my thing. To be honest I kind of hate the colour except for when it’s so dark it’s almost black; and after a bad experience with dark purple nail varnish a few years ago, I was a little sceptical about buying this colour.
Anyway long story short, I love this colour so much. It’s perfectly dark and broody with a dash of sexy thrown in, and the colour works so well with my skin tone and just about any outfit.
I can’t wait to show you some of my other purchases, so stay tuned for those.
Doesn’t this colour just remind you of hot chocolate in the winter?
I have to admit that when I first started applying this colour I was a little sceptical, but three coats later I was loving the beautiful brown colour. This shade is from Barry M’s Gelly Collection, and is already one of my favourites from the collection.
I love that it’s really dark but something a little different to what I would normally wear. You can definitely be sure that I’ll be wearing it a lot in the future.
Usually around this time of year I’d be getting out my pinks, nudes and creams or scouring Superdrug Barry M section for their latest pale colours. However, this year I’ve found myself shunning those typical spring/summer shades in favour of something a little darker. Now, I’m not sure if I’ll keep this up all summer long, but I hope that I do. I love the contrast between hot weather and a dark because it’s so different and gives you a little edge.
It makes such a nice change and it’s so unexpected, it works so well.
Doesn’t this colour just make you want to eat a bowl of chilli? Or maybe it’s just me… Anyway, I’ve had this colour for a while, and even though I’ve worn it a few times, this is the first I’m sharing it.
The thing I love most about the colour is that it’s red, but it’s a kind of soft red as opposed being an ultra-harsh or a super sexy red. That makes it great for when I want red nails, but I’m not looking to make such a big statement.
Just looking at these pictures is making me crave chilli… mmm 🙂
Or as I like to call it, ‘Barbie Pink’. I got this colour the other day, and while I LOVED it in the bottle, I’m still a little undecided about it on my nails. It’s a dusty kind of plastic pink that’s been seen on the Moschino runway, and has a tendency to look a bit too much.
Maybe this colour will end up growing on me…
I bought this nail varnish a few months ago and it was nothing like I expected it to be. I guess that by now I should be used to Barry M colours turning out differently to what their colour implies/what I think the colour might be.
Anyway, ‘Almond’ is from their Gelly Collection (which is definitely my favourite of all the Barry M collections) and looks a lot like ‘Vanilla’ in the sense that it’s more purple/lilac than you would think. However, in some lights the lilac looks more nude which is nice (although that could only just be because of my skin tone), and even though I was very apprehensive towards the purplely nature of the nail varnish, in these past three days I’ve actually grown strangely accustomed to it.
I found that the polish didn’t exactly glide on like usual, but that could be down to me not shaking it as much as I usually do. Aside from that though, the polish is just fine.
Nails: Barry M ‘Almond’; Rings: ASOS
Shirt: Jack Wills; Trousers: Uniqlo
And obviously with these manicure pics I couldn’t resist showing off a few of my rings that I haven’t really worn in a while.
