“We will not fail. We will not go down. We will fight the fight. There’s always a solution.”
Kerry Washington is the resident cover girl for net-a-ports online magazine, The Edit, and omg is she a stunner! We know that looks aren’t exactly everything, but as this is a fashion blog, aesthetics really are kinda, sorta everything (and as expected we were not disappointed!).
In the magazine, Kerry talks about Scandal (natch), being a woman/working mother in the industry, as well as giving a little insight into her new production company named after the street her mother grew up on in New York.
This was such an inspiring and beautiful spread that most definitely reignited my loved and admiration for the actress.
Talking about Scandal, last Saturday was spent binge watching and catching up on the last few episodes and omg has it been all kinds of juicy scandalousness. We can’t wait to see how the season will come to an end, but we’re super excited to find out!

It’s been a few months since Scandal’s third season finale which saw a hell of a lot of drama, including; Fitz’s son being murdered, Rowan regain his place as the head of B613, and Olivia abscond with Jake on a private jet to god knows where. Obviously I totally loved the season finale and I was literally hollering and at the edge of my seat throughout, the only downside being that I knew I’d have to wait four months for even a taste of what was to come afterwards. Now, that being said, two teasers for the new season of Scandal have been released, the first of which gave me no indication of anything and me chomping at the bit. However, the second teaser gives the slightest clue as to what is coming – and by the slightest I mean hardly anything at all – warranting a post of its own. Take a look. You can also read the synopsis for the first episode here.
September 25th really could not come quick enough… my how these months have flown by. I can’t wait!
Last Thursday Scandal wrapped its third season, and boy oh boy did it go out with a BANG! The season has been one hell of a crazy ride, and I have screamed at least once during each episode (although obviously I screamed a lot more during some episodes than others). Anyway, as there won’t be any new episodes until god knows how long (fingers crossed ABC announces that it’s been picked up for a fourth season so that I can start counting down days), I thought I’d spend this last Thursday of the month remembering my five favourite episodes of the series*. Below are the five promos for my five favourite episodes, so check them out.
GUESS WHO’S COMING TO DINNER?
MRS SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
WE DO NOT TOUCH THE FIRST LADIES
MAMA SAID KNOCK YOU OUT
THE PRICE OF FREE AND FAIR ELECTION
Were you watching Scandal this season? Or are you still watching it? If not, I think you know what to do: get watching!
*FYI it was really hard narrowing down eighteen to five, but I managed. If this were a ‘Six Favourites Thursday’, I would definitely add in “Vermont is for Lovers, Too”. But just so that you don’t miss out on that promo, I’ve added it below, so enjoy!
VERMONT IS FOR LOVERS, TOO
Or as I like to call it: My Latest Television Obsession hahaha. Move over Olivia Pope, there’s a new power woman embroiled in an affair with a married man, whose wardrobe is one I’m lusting MAJORLY after, that I’ve become enthralled with. Admittedly, Being Mary Jane isn’t really a show I would watch, but for some strange reason (perhaps it’s my newfound interest in Gabrielle Union) last night I thought I’d give it a watch. Three episodes and eight hours of dreaming about it later, and I can officially say that I am HOOKED.
Being Mary Jane, is about career woman, Mary Jane Paul (MJ) on her quest for love. In the first three episodes we see her navigate her way through her different sexual relationships, all the while juggling a booming career as a talk show host, and an impassive, unmotivated family (not including her parents).
I’m excited to see where the season takes MJ.
I’m not going to lie. I wasn’t wholly disappointed by net-a-porters lack of options today because I found the ultimate pleasure to make up for it: THIS CAPE. My mouth is literally watering as a I type and think about how beautiful this cape would look draped over my shoulders – oh god, I think I’m having an Olivia Pope moment (ha! I bet you didn’t think you’d hear that name for a while) – but I mean, come on (!), what’s not to love? It’s practically screaming my name (especially the size 38 *hint hint*) and asking for me to own it.
Just looking at it, I’m seeing that I desperately need THIS cape in my life, and I won’t settle for anything less. What do you think? Chic or what…
I don’t know what’s up with the weather this week, but I for one am not complaining if it means I won’t have to be bundled up in layers and woolly cardigans all day long. To take full advantage of the sun today I decided to wear neutral tones (I have a thing for wearing one colour/tone outfits) and something light to keep me cool.
You can’t beat that Friday feeling!
Blouse: ASOS; Cropped pants: Uniqlo; Sunglasses: TOMSeyewear; Flats: Topshop
The summer is shaping up to be quite an exciting time and I can’t wait to see what will happen this year! Let me know what you think and I hope you’re enjoying the sun today. Happy Friday.
Okay, so I just saw this awesome timetable on twitter and I have to say that it’s just made my day (and summer) a hell of a lot better. Even though Scandal may be over and we won’t be graced with a new episode until later this year, that doesn’t mean we have to go without our scandalous crisis management fix. I know I had already planned on re-watching every single episode – hey, I mean it’s a LONG LONG summer and I’ve got nothing but time – but this timetable makes re-watching the episodes that extra bit special.
You can join in no matter where you are in the world, which I think is AWESOME, because it means that Gladiators worldwide can unite and live-tweet through our favourite episodes. You can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be participating, so will you? Remember it’s not just enough to say it; you have to mean it too!
