Red Jumbo Cardigan.

When my sister brought this cardigan home for the first time, I knew it was an item I was going to get my share of wears out of and it didn’t take long for it to find itself amongst my possessions. If you can’t tell from the pictures, it’s cosy and chunky and thick and beautiful. Around the time these pictures were taken, although it was warm enough to go without a coat or jacket, it was still cold enough for you to freeze if you went out without mildly thick sleeves – don’t you just hate that kind of weather? – so I was in need of something long sleeved and warm to go over my dress.

Even though I’m not really a fan of wearing black with other colours, I made an exception with this outfit because I loved the cardigan so much.

Summer Neutrals.

Between writing three four-thousand word essays and going to work, it’s a wonder I have time to go out for a leisurely stroll and enjoy the beautiful weather we’ve been having here in London. Last week temperatures rose to 25° which called for slinky shorts and sheer fabrics to keep me cool.

I hope the weather stays this nice so I can dress like this every day.

Maggie.

Can you believe it has genuinely taken me a whole month to blog about this dress? I first wrote about the Maggie back in March when I was astounded at the price compared to a Current/Elliott dress I had my eye. The moment after I had written the post, I purchased the dress, a few days after that, it arrived in the post, but it wasn’t until this past Saturday that I actually wore it out for the first time.

To be honest, when I first tried the dress on I didn’t like it. It was too big, way too long and I just didn’t feel right it in. I went back and forth about a hundred times deciding whether or not to return it, and I’m so glad that I didn’t. While it may have been a bit on the big side trying it on, when I went out and about in it, it didn’t feel as big.

I really can’t wait for the summer so I can wear this pretty much every day.

NB. I’m wearing a size 8.

Blue Tiles.

You know that summer is close when you can run errands without worrying about wearing a jacket, whilst knowing that going out bare-legged may be a little over ambitious.

It’s great that the weather has been so nice lately, but knowing Britain it’s only a matter of time before it starts pouring down with rain hahahahahahaha (touch wood it doesn’t…).

I for one just can’t believe it’s April. Before we know it we’ll be in the full throes of August!

‘Repping Gryffindor.

Tuesday morning was one of those cold, kind of nippy but gloriously sunny mornings that makes you struggle to choose an outfit for the day because you easily run the risk of either freezing to death or boiling to death. I like to think my outfit was perfect for the weird definitely-not-summer-but-not-quite-winter weather, and I was particularly helped by my massive H&M scarf which made me feel as though I was repping Gryffindor.

It really is so crazy to think we’ve hit that time of year when it’s almost over. As much as I hate to sound like those people, but where on earth has this year gone? Anyway, I’m off to watch Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder. Happy Friday!

Lilac and Yellow.

It feels as though I’ve spent most of the summer lying out in the summer in a different bikini every day. After a crazy three years at uni as well as every summer since I started uni working, it’s a welcome change, and being a lady of leisure is definitely all that it’s cracked up to me.

Conscious Kimono.

I bought this kimono from H&M a couple of weeks ago and I feel as though I haven’t taken it off. It’s so slinky and goes well with everything (even things that it doesn’t really go with, but I don’t really care hahahaha). I got it in a size large and even though it’s a little bit overwhelming at times, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

As it’s been an insane hot summer this year, this kimono has acted as the perfect cover up for days spent topping up my tan and laying out in the sun. plus with it being part of H&M’s Conscious Collection I feel like I’m taking care of the environment while catching some rays (young Alice would be super proud) – talk about a fashionable way to multitask.

Another thing I’ve found from days spent out in the sun is that my love and need for a matching two piece is no longer as intense and serious as it was. I’m now more than happy to mix things up and splice different swimsuits together – clashing prints, colours and all! My bikini is an amalgamation of a black Kookaï one and a tie-dye Primark one.

Like most things that I end up loving, I’m now obsessed with kimonos and want to own every single one of them.
