Five Favourites Thursday: June 2016.

Yess! We’re finally officially in summer, and though the rain likes to remind us that we’re still living in London, it’s nice knowing that we are in the throes of summer and that warmer days await us. June has been a really reflective month for me, and just like how the season has changed, I’ve begun to feel the season change from within, with those grey cloudy months moving into my periphery. Today’s Favourites may seem familiar, but that’s just a testament to how big a role they really play in my life.

I wrote an article about seven things The Good Wife taught me over the years, and I found that writing the article was actually quite cathartic for me. Not only did it give me a chance to look back on the past seven seasons and all the juicy, heart-rending episodes, but it also allowed me a chance to look back on my life and to plan for the future. Make sure you check out my post here.

Throughout these cloudy months the one thing that’s kept me going has been my beauty, hair and skincare blog. I’m continuingly learning more about my hair, my skin, different ingredients, different treatments, and ways to look after myself. I update the blog twice a week (every Tuesday and Friday), so check that out too if you’re in need of any advice, or just want to see how I’m doing.

As always, Tumblr has been an extremely incredible source of inspiration, motivation and educational place for me over the month. While I’m regularly on the site, in the last couple of months I wasn’t on it as much as I was during the month of June. As I gear up for the second half of 2016 I’ve found myself more drawn to it than ever, and it reminds me not to give up when times get rough.

Net-a-ports has been another source of inspiration for me this month. I don’t know if it’s because they’re getting better pieces or because my style has developed more, but net-a-porter have been KILLING IT recently in terms of their ‘What’s New’ section. It’s been a while since I’ve shared my favourite picks from the site, but you can be sure that I’ve been trawling the site at least three times a week. Every time I browse through the incredibly beautiful pieces, I’m hit with the motivation to keep striving for beautiful things.

The two things I can’t live without. Even though this last one is kind of cheating, television and music have been the biggest boosters for me this month (actually now that I think about it, they’re always the biggest boosters for me). I’ve shared a few of the things I’ve been watching and listening to, but that doesn’t even begin to cover all the things I’ve been immersing myself in recently. As the month draws to a close, so do many of my favourite shows; but as a new month begins, so do many of my other favourite shows.

Tomorrow also marks the official beginning of the second half of the year with only 183 days left of the year, so today kind of feels like New Year’s Eve. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds! Happy Thursday.

Five Favourites Thursday: November 2015.

Even though November is hands-down my favourite month of the year, by the time it gets to around the 20th of the month, I always find myself wondering what hell was the point of it. For me, November always ends way too quickly and before I know it, it’s already December and then the New Year. Anyway, rambling aside, here are my five favourite things that happened this month.

I saw this on Tumblr the other day and it not only reminded me to enjoy every moment of life (something we all forget to do), but it also reminded me of all those small almost insignificant moments in the past month that I’ve enjoyed: from the mundane like eating junk food with my sister, to the extraordinary like you’ll read below!

I have been OBSESSED with these drinks since they were on offer in Sainsbury’s a few weeks ago. In the space of two weeks, I’ve lost count of the number of bottles of drank of the stuff. These drinks are pressed juices/smoothies (I’m still not quite sure what it is) made from vegetables and fruits, and OMG THEY ARE DIVINE. My favourite is the green one which is packed with everything from apples, to kale to broccoli. I love it so much that earlier this week I paid full price for it! Mmmm, these are really good stuff.

Five Favourites Thursday: November 2015

I’ll be writing more about this on Monday, but I went to see Turbowolf at the end of October. It was such a good night.

This is a little teaser for a post I’ll be sharing the coming weeks. I went to see IAMX for the first time and OH MY GOD IT WAS THE SINGLE GREATEST EXPERIENCE OF MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE.

Five Favourites Thursday: November 2015

I swear my new blog has completely taken over my life. Because it’s still in its infant stages and because I have a specific vision for it (unlike this mess of a blog hahahaha) I’ve found that I’m spending WAY more time writing posts and trying to make it the best blog it can be. I know that this blog has taught me so much about blogging and writing, and it has been so helpful in my new blog. While this makes my new blog a little easier to curate and navigate, it also means I know what I need to do in order to improve and share content, which takes a lot more effort and time. I know I’ve been neglecting this blog for the last month, but it will always be my baby and remain close to my heart; and I will always try to continue sharing all my favourite fashion, television, music and snippets of my life with you.

November really has been such a month! Bring on December. Happy Thursday.

The Truth About Life.

Seven truths we all need reminding of every once in a while…

No-one has all the answers; much of life is a total mystery.

No job is “just perfect” or ideal for you. They all have their boring and frustrating times.

There are no perfect people – everybody lets you down at times – for even the best people have their failings and weak points.

Much of life is humdrum, unexciting and mundane – but it has its times of happiness and joy as well.

Our emotions are fickle and can quickly change. Don’t expect to feel happy and contented all the time.

No matter how well you plan, you will still meet obstacles – but overcoming challenges develops character.

Uncertainty and change are a major part of life – but that adds to the intrigue, and stops things getting dull.

…now if only I could remember these.

Something Amazing.

Sometimes it’s as though I’m so scared of my potential and all that I’ve got to offer, that instead of working harder and bettering myself, I spend my time talking myself down and rationalising why there’s no need for me to do something. I know this is a really bad trait of mine but I’m sure I’m not the only one, so today let’s all remember:

Happy Monday.
