Lots of Stripes.

Is there any pattern easier to wear than stripes? Whether it be vertical or horizontal, I’m a sucker for a bit of stripe action. There’s something really laidback and casual (which is definitely my style) about them, yet they never look lazy or messy. I also think stripes help add a bit of dimension to not only the clothes, but to the wearer as well.

While I do love me some stripes, do not be fooled: not all stripes are created equal, as the classic navy-white combination will always reign supreme (but that’s a post for another day).

Leopard Print Shorts Pt. II.

Yesterday I shared my new favourite shorts, and as promised I’ll be sharing them with you again. After a long afternoon of running around town and sorting out a few bits and bobs, it was time to retire home and chill out for a bit before going out for a short walk. Like I said yesterday, these shorts are sleek and luxe, and feel like you’re not wearing anything, so all I did was swap my structured shirt for a thin loose-fitting Bretton striped sweater. I thought the results were pretty fab – oh how ‘on trend’ of me to mix prints like that – check me out hahahaha.

Nothing beats a pair of slinky shorts, especially on a hot summer’s day, or for lounging around the house.

(Coffee’s For Closers).

A seemingly random title for a blog post, but in actual fact it’s the title of a song from Fall Out Boy’s fourth album, Folie à Deux, which just happened to come on shuffle, and which I thought just so happened fit with this post (even though it has nothing  to do with this post whatsoever…). Anyway, I bought this sweater last month and it’s already become my favourite. I love how well it goes with just about anything – case in point this particular outfit. I mean, who would have thought that black and white stripes could possibly work with a shiny teal playsuit?

Oh, and I must say that I am most unfortunate-looking without my trusty pair of oversized shades. Oh woe is me.

ps. you should definitely give the song a listen, it’s a good’n.

Leather and Stripes.

Who remembers last weekend when the sun was shining and you had to wear sunglasses all day long? Well this girl here certainly does, and I have to say that I’m missing the brown tint my TOMS gave everything around me.

This is probably my favourite Jack Wills dress that I’ve had for a few years. It’s comfy, fits perfectly, and looks good with EVERYTHING.

The quality is amazing, and as long as I’m able to still fit in it, I am one happy girl!

While the sun may be playing hide-and-seek, I guess I should be happy that at least it didn’t snow this year, and that summer is literally two months away…

I Like My Stripes.

There was nothing particularly special about today, unlike yesterday’s sunny day, so I figured a simple dress would do my fine, and if needs be I could just throw on my Supergas. It wasn’t until fairly recently that I own a fair amount of striped pieces, mainly thanks to Jack Wills. But anyway, I personally think that you can’t go wrong with stripes because they add a bit of fun without being too crazy.
