Believe me when I say that it is coincidental that all the pieces I’ve chosen are black… maybe it’s my subconscious’ way of trying to tell me something, I don’t know…

Candy Pieces.

Today’s picks look as though they could easily have come from Dylan’s Candy Bar, and leaves me craving a little sugar for my sweet tooth. Victoria Beckham’s classic leather shopper (which I think definitely has the power to surpass the infamous Birkin given time) appears twice, once in cream and a second time in luminous orange; while her equally stylish tennis dress also makes an appearance in dusty pink. Fendi’s metallic leather flats remind me of a pair I had as a little girl that I really hated at the time, but now looking back I kind of miss them. It’s been a while since a sweater graced the blog, and what better way to reintroduce my coveted wardrobe favourite than with Theory’s super snuggly cashmere offering – I’m in sweater heaven with this baby! Oscar de la Renta, the king of ballroom call never disappoints whenever I’m looking for some candy, and he really didn’t let me down with this cutesy cropped baby jacket that I’d wear over something really simple like a pair of blue jeans and a white tank. Finally we have Gianvito Rossi rounding up the pack with his nude colour pumps, ideal for practically any occasion.

Beckham, Oak and Maje.

Victoria Beckham leads the designer pack in today’s favourite picks. While her ‘Denise’ ponte dress may need to be taken up a few inches if I were to wear it, the blush pink and contrast black mesh is a killer combination that I’d love to rock for a night of fun and dancing, or better yet to rule the boardroom with some crazy high stilettos.  Every girl definitely needs as many LBDs as she can shake a stick at, especially one that is all bodycon on top, but then offers something a little different with a flirty flared skirt at the bottom. Oak knows how to make sure you feel as comfy as you look chic while resting at home and catching up with all your favourite TV shows, especially with their super chic white cardigan that I’d wear (oversized of course!) slung lazily over a pair of black leggings and a long tee. This cute Victoria Beckham mini skirt is just the thing I’ve been looking for (and believe me have I been looking) that would go nicely with practically everything. Maje obviously knew what they were talking about naming this jacket ‘Dream’, because it is all that and so so much more!

One Vintage.

What I love most about fashion is that it gives one room to grow as a person and allows one to develop their own style and taste. This can most definitely be said about myself, especially when it comes to some of my new favourite designers; first with Chloé and now with One Vintage.

I can remember browsing net-a-porter for years and seeing One Vintage, week after week being sold out (almost instantaneously) and wondering: “What is it with this brand? The clothes aren’t particularly nice”. In fact, it wasn’t until really recently that I actually looked at One Vintage and saw why it sold out week after week. The clothes have a vintage (kind of goes without saying but I’m a little slow sometimes) feel, something that I’m not a big fan of, yet they resonate so well with modern day fashion.

The brand was magically brought to life by Marcelle Symons, who was a partner in Paul & Joe UK, before leaving to set up her own business and developing her own boutique D&Me. Symons works with a team of specialist seamstresses to breathe new life into these totally original vintage designs.

What makes these garments so perfect and desirable is because they are reworked from vintage dresses and are truly one of a kind, right down to the one-size-fits-all styling. Dress them or down with basic flats or killer stilettos, the pieces are perfect for any occasion and can be worn with flared jeans or a cropped pant.
