Simple Pleasures.

Today’s picks are so simple yet manage to arouse a happiness and joy from deep (deep, DEEP) in my heart. You’ll probably also notice that the styling is such as simple as the pieces I’ve chosen. We start with Stella (who I’ll now deem the queen of sweaters, especially of the oversized variety) and her metallic sweater that makes me crave cold winters just so that I can cosy up inside one of these babies, and sit by the fire. Mr Louboutin does not disappoint with his spikey heeled ‘Kate’ pump that is the most beautiful shoe I’ve seen all week. Nothing warms my heart like a diamond or two… (I mean this blog is called DIAMONDS and pebbles – emphasis on the diamonds) and Ileana rounds off the pack with this simple thread ring that I need to own ASAP!

Beckham, Oak and Maje.

Victoria Beckham leads the designer pack in today’s favourite picks. While her ‘Denise’ ponte dress may need to be taken up a few inches if I were to wear it, the blush pink and contrast black mesh is a killer combination that I’d love to rock for a night of fun and dancing, or better yet to rule the boardroom with some crazy high stilettos.  Every girl definitely needs as many LBDs as she can shake a stick at, especially one that is all bodycon on top, but then offers something a little different with a flirty flared skirt at the bottom. Oak knows how to make sure you feel as comfy as you look chic while resting at home and catching up with all your favourite TV shows, especially with their super chic white cardigan that I’d wear (oversized of course!) slung lazily over a pair of black leggings and a long tee. This cute Victoria Beckham mini skirt is just the thing I’ve been looking for (and believe me have I been looking) that would go nicely with practically everything. Maje obviously knew what they were talking about naming this jacket ‘Dream’, because it is all that and so so much more!

Embellished Distractions.

After a long day spent thinking about American conspiracy theories (JFK to be more precise) and about how women in American politics are represented on television shows, there’s nothing quite like immersing myself in luxury fashion – at least for the moment before I dive back to work anyway. Those helping take my mind of uni work are: Rosantica’s BEAUTIFUL headband that I wouldn’t mind rocking; Tory Burch’s embellished knit sweater that would look divine tucked in a black wool mini and flat knee high boots; SUPER short and super cute black shorts a la Givenchy, worn with a roll-neck; a mini embellished Stella bag that would look perfect with just about anything; and finally Chloé’s fabulous sweater dress, which I’m sure will come in handy soon! Fuzz.

Who doesn’t love a bit of fuzz or fur, especially in the coming winter months? It somehow seems fitting that today’s picks are all of the fuzzy and warm variety, making me all the more excited for sub-zero temperatures to descend on us. Fendi seem to get it right with their bright shearling shoulder bag, and classic white three-quarter length top; whilst Delpozo and Giambattista Valli do their thang with a bit of eagle and monochrome action, respectively.

A Few Pieces To Cheer Me Up.

I’ve been throwing up since morning and it’s put an enormous downer on my day; not only because it’s meant I’ve spent the day on my hands and knees next to the toilet, but because it’s meant I’ve been unable to go to bench ball (something I was REALLY looking forward to :() – I guess I’ll just have to go next week. With all this drama going on, there’s only one place that can cheer me up: net-a-porter, and today’s picks do not disappoint. We start off with Dion Lee’s black and blue halter top that looks great with the matching skirt (which I haven’t included because it’s a tad too long for my liking), but would just as fab with a pair of skinny jeans. Christian Louboutin makes the list twice with a pair of sexy and classic python pumps and a pair of thigh high black suede boots. We then finish things off with L’Wren Scott’s gold number with an ultra-plush blue velvet ribbon detail (you know how much I’m loving ribbons at the moment); and a Fendi bag, cute and fabulous enough to rival the iconic Chanel 2.55.

While we all know that I’m obsessed with oversized anything, whether it be bags, coats or sweaters; sometimes it’s good to mix things up a bit and downsize. Yesterday I came across my Michael Kors quilted Hamilton baby and I was reminded of my love for the miniature. Today’s picks are definitely a mix of the big and the small: with Christian Louboutin’s cute embellished mini ‘Sweet Charity’ bag, a the big and open knitted Alexander Wang cardigan, and finally Banjo & Matilda’s cool cocktail cashmere sweater. The Net-A-Porter Newcomers.

Today’s wish list picks sees two new and exclusive luxury brands to net-a-porter, and I have to say that I’ve already fallen under their spell. Mansur Gavriel’s spaciously simple and elegant tote has been swooning all sorts of crazy; with the unexpected pop of the interior red – can I get a sexy or what? Then jewellery newcomer, Hervé van der Straeten, makes me want to start wearing jewellery (necklaces in particular) every single day for the rest of my life, which says a lot considering that jewellery posts on this blog are at the barest minimum. Net-a-porter regulars, Erickson Beamon and J. Crew, provide expected pleasures in the form of stunning enamel and gold plated drop earrings (that I’d love to rock *hint hint*) and a pair  of so elegantly styled simple crepe pants.

I Want That, That and That…

You know those times when you see things and you know in your heart that you just HAVE TO HAVE them (or in my case you know that you just have to add them to you wish list basket)? Well that happened last night when I was going through the latest from net-a-porter. It’s been a long time since such incredible pieces jumped out at me like these beauties did.

Hmmm, this cape may raise a few eyebrows, in fact it did raise mine but I didn’t care, I added it to my wish list anyway. There’s something so sleek, chic and fantastical about this cape that makes it such a desirable and high fashion piece, even though to simply look at it, you wouldn’t get that immediate feeling. But I feel it, I get it, I have the eye, so I know what Nina was up to with this one.
