LBD Inspiration.

As always, I’m on the lookout for some new LBDs – I mean after all, a woman can never have too many and apparently I don’t quite own enough – so where better to check out inspiration than net-a-porter which I always bristling with fabulous ideas. Check out my favourites below.

Astrological Fashion Blogging.

With Mars moving out of my sign and into Sagittarius, it’s fair to say that I’m of no use to anyone at the moment, unless negativity and a bad attitude is what people want – hey, I could be wrong, but I’m fairly certain my bad mood should be kept to myself until I can snap out of this funk. Anyways, what better way to pass the time and try to get my mind off everything else than by blogging some of my favourite pieces from net-a-porter? I guess blogging about luxe clothes is my equivalent to spending money I most definitely don’t have on them. Oh well, anything to get me feeling back to my old self again.

Like a Lady.

Most days I dress like a slob. But on those off days when I feel like putting an extra bit of effort into my public appearance and personal presentation, it never hurts to look to pieces like the ones below for inspiration. Ladylike dressing doesn’t just mean perfectly hemmed dressed six inch stilettos (though arguably that’s part of it); it means something so much more – it means bringing that extra bit of glamour and simplicity (think Olivia Palermo or Blair Eadie especially in their dressed down looks), to each and every outfit.

Black, Lace, Leopard.

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, so todays picks are somewhat sombre, laid back and calm – I mean you can’t get any more sombre, laid back and calm than black, lace, leopard print and a dash of cosy grey, can you?

Wednesday Night Styling.

So I’m kind of bored right now, but what better way to pass the time than to share some of my favourites from net-a-porter. Today I have quite an extended list, which is good for me because it means I get to spend A LONG time looking at different styling options, and it’s good for you because it means you’ve got more fabulous pieces to ogle at!

Clutch It, Bring It Bag.

For those of you who grew up with an older brother who loved rap music, you’ll understand when I say that those early rap songs are pretty hard to just forget. Now you’re probably wondering what the hell rap noughties rap music has to do with net-a-porter, so let me explain. As I was going through the latest designer duds on net-a-porter this morning, I came across quite a few clothes and bags that I felt deserved their very own post, instead of being lumped together with the clothes (like I usually do). For some strange reason, while I was figuring out what to title this post, the 2006 Busta Rhymes song ‘Touch It’ popped into my head immediately and the rest as they say was history – I had my title. Now for those of you who are unfamiliar with the chorus of the song, it goes a little something like this: “touch it, bring it babe, watch it, turn it, leave it, stop, format it”. Anyway, onto the bags…

Simple Pleasures.

Today’s picks are so simple yet manage to arouse a happiness and joy from deep (deep, DEEP) in my heart. You’ll probably also notice that the styling is such as simple as the pieces I’ve chosen. We start with Stella (who I’ll now deem the queen of sweaters, especially of the oversized variety) and her metallic sweater that makes me crave cold winters just so that I can cosy up inside one of these babies, and sit by the fire. Mr Louboutin does not disappoint with his spikey heeled ‘Kate’ pump that is the most beautiful shoe I’ve seen all week. Nothing warms my heart like a diamond or two… (I mean this blog is called DIAMONDS and pebbles – emphasis on the diamonds) and Ileana rounds off the pack with this simple thread ring that I need to own ASAP!

Black.

Who doesn’t love an influx of new black duds even now and again, uh? Interesting today’s picks start and finish with Bottega Veneta, who do not disappoint with their cosy cashmere wrap coat and their trademark woven leather bag. Sure Halloween may have happened a few weeks ago, but that doesn’t mean you can’t vamp it up with Dolce & Gabbana’s sexy lace booties, that would look equally cute with a mini dress of leggings. And then finally Michael Kors has something for those of us who just cannot decide: jersey or leather?

To Buy Or Not To Buy: 5050.

I have been on the lookout for the perfect boots (that aren’t lined with sheep wool) for longer than I care to remember. It wasn’t until late year that I finally found THE boots. Enter Stuart Weitzman and his ultra-chic iconic 5050 knee high boots.

50505050505050505050

I can’t put into words everything I love about them or why they’re my dream boots, but just trust me when I say that they are. I dream of wearing these with skinny jeans, a mini skirt and thick tights in the winter; then pairing it with cropped pants, shorts and flimsy cute blouses for the spring and early summer – a fur gilet would go swimmingly all year round too. Styling Suggestion below:

AUTUMN/WINTER

SPRING/SUMMER

Skaist-Taylor     T by Alexander Wang     Karl Donoghue

The only downside to these beautiful treasures is that they carry a price tag of £410 (and that’s not including shipping!), and while I’ve spent a fair amount of money on things in the past, this would by far be my biggest splurge on a single item, and I’m not too sure I’m quite ready to take the plunge. Sure I do get paid on Friday (like I’ve already mentioned), but I still don’t know.

5050    5050

I guess I’ll have to make do with dreaming and imaging until I make up my mind. I will welcome any and all suggestions as to what to do about my pesky dilemma. And while I decide whether to buy or not, I’ll also have a think about whether I want the all suede ones or the leather and suede. Decisions, decisions…

Red, White and Black.

Who doesn’t need a new pair of ultra-stylish Loubies, or a chic and noa calf trimmed blazer by Helmut Lang? I know it’s been a long while since I posted anything sweater-related, but I think that Stella’s luxe oversized offering more than make up for that absence. And what about the “It” Pashli bag? While I wasn’t such a big fan at first, I’ve grown to really love it and I’m dreaming of the day when I’ll be able to own one.
