The other day I found myself browsing through net-a-porter, seeing what new things they had in store, and adding my favourites to my wish list. It wasn’t until later when I was reviewing my updated wish list that I noticed something interesting: most of the new additions were from Swedish brand, Totême. Started in 2014 by couple Elin Kling and Karl Lindman, Totême, has gone from strength to strength being featured in publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and WSJ (Wall Street Journal’s magazine). Looking at their clothes, one of the main things I love about the brand is the easiness and simplicity of every piece, as well as the casualness and effortless chicness about the pieces (you guys know how I love my clothes simple and casual). I also love how everything could just as easily be paired with jeans and sneakers, or with a mini skirt and heels. Here are a few of my favourites from net-a-porter.

Pallas.

So I think I may have stumbled on something great… Actually no, scratch that, I’m SURE I’ve stumbled upon something great; and that is Parisian brand Pallas.

      

What makes Pallas so great? Well for starters there’s the fact that despite me not being the biggest tuxedo fan for women, I have a sudden urge to own all of their beautifully tailored pieces. I want to wear them with skinny jeans, tees and sneakers for a laid back day look (then swap the sneakers for heels at night); I want to wear them with skin-tight bodycon dresses; I want to wear them with just about anything because I KNOW they would pair so well with everything.

Anyway, crazy-psycho-Alice rambling aside, this is a really cool brand, inspired by Le Smoking (think Yves Saint Laurent), and designed by Daniel Pallas and Veronique Bousquet, who have been featured in Vogue; and they have already inspired me to mix up my look a bit.

2Jours & Follies Cabo.

Fendi and Louboutin were by far THE stand-out pieces from the latest products to be added to net-a-porter this week. The mini shopper evokes all kinds of lady-like glamour that can just as easily be dressed down as it can be dressed up, depending on where you feel more like showing off. And the black embellished pumps with their contrast gold heel made me want to reach through my screen and grab them for myself.

Hoods & Studs.

I have a journal article to read and subsequent notes to make on said article, so obviously that means I have to share my favourites pieces that I found on net-a-porter this morning – I mean, first thing’s first and everything – and hey, you could never accuse me of getting my priorities mixed up. So anyway, earrings are slowing beginning to overtake my obsession with rings, especially after losing my most sacred velvet trinket box which housed all my precious jewellery, earrings to be more precise, so I’ve been slowly trying to rebuild my cache. These studs from Melissa Joy Manning are absolutely perfect and I’m hoping and wishing for pairs like these in the future cough cough. And Chloé decided that with winter SOMEWHERE around the corner we should be investing in cashmere ribbed hoods. I couldn’t agree more, and obviously I’m not alone in this assumption as one of the two hoods had already sold out long before I had a chance to make the morning rounds on net-a-porter. Astrological Fashion Blogging.

With Mars moving out of my sign and into Sagittarius, it’s fair to say that I’m of no use to anyone at the moment, unless negativity and a bad attitude is what people want – hey, I could be wrong, but I’m fairly certain my bad mood should be kept to myself until I can snap out of this funk. Anyways, what better way to pass the time and try to get my mind off everything else than by blogging some of my favourite pieces from net-a-porter? Notte by Marchesa Embroidered Dress.

This dress makes me wish that I’m twenty six, attending a fancy summer’s evening event with a hunky guy on my arm, looking for the perfect dress. The detail is most exquisite and exudes a playful yet sophisticated ultra luxe vibe, making this dress perfect for any occasion. I would wear this with simple natural looking makeup, and with my hair either pulled back in a high ponytail or a in sleek bun. See below for styling suggestions.

        

This rose adorned dress reminds me of that Elie Saab gown Halle Berry wore when she won her Oscar back in 2002, but with a super pink and girly twist.

Blue Cream Basics.

I live for basics. In fact, you could most readily describe my entire wardrobe as a basics haven. Even when I do dress up to the nines and don my highest heels, there’s always still a sense of simpleness that comes from pairing basic pieces like a white tee, cut off shorts (which I must admit I’ve only recently become OBSESSED with), and striped dresses with canvas sneakers. Today’s picks really emulate my somewhat lazy style with: a striped navy dream from A.P.C., that I just so happen to won a similar design by Jack Wills; a cutesy mini bag in the much sought-after trapeze shape by Michael Kors; and finally the must have denim shorts, courtesy of Victoria Beckham. Embellished Textures.

When I was little, I used to love those pop-up books that had various different textures in them. I would always graze my hands over them and obsess over different feelings beneath my hands. That same desire to graze my hand over varying textures is still with me today, and has moved on from books and onto clothing. There’s nothing quite like an unexpected texture on an item of clothing that mixes the whole thing up beautifully. Anyway, todays pick have that extra textured something that makes them POP – kind of like those books from my childhood.

Simple Pleasures.

Today’s picks are so simple yet manage to arouse a happiness and joy from deep (deep, DEEP) in my heart. You’ll probably also notice that the styling is such as simple as the pieces I’ve chosen. We start with Stella (who I’ll now deem the queen of sweaters, especially of the oversized variety) and her metallic sweater that makes me crave cold winters just so that I can cosy up inside one of these babies, and sit by the fire. Mr Louboutin does not disappoint with his spikey heeled ‘Kate’ pump that is the most beautiful shoe I’ve seen all week. Nothing warms my heart like a diamond or two… (I mean this blog is called DIAMONDS and pebbles – emphasis on the diamonds) and Ileana rounds off the pack with this simple thread ring that I need to own ASAP!
